1920s Spring-Eez Rust Solvent and Lubrication Advertising Tin welding AB - 103997 - 101521This paper label advertising tin is for Spring Eez rust solvent, lubricant, and squeak cure. It was manufactured by Halsted Specialties Company out of San Francisco and comes to us from the 1920s. As legend would have it, Griffin Halsted was working for Standard Oil Company in his New Jersey lab in late 1916 when one of his experiments with mineral oils exploded. When assessing the damage done, he noticed a liquid climbing up a piece of metal,
