This is a wonderful example of the classic Japanese Type 90 Tetsubo ( "steel cap") army helmet, also colloquially called the tetsukabuto ( "steel helmet") by Japanese troops. This is actually the first of these black painted army helmets we have received. Research reveals that not much is known as to why they were painted black but we did find a reasonable and practical reason. The Japanese soldiers that would
