this one with what appears to be branching tree carved into the forehead

It appears to me that they were carved and then augmented with some sort of composition material

3 1/8” x 2 3/8” x 5/8” and in fairly good condition considering it is nearly 200 years old

I love how positively gentle this pair look even as they fire their guns and hold their knives at the ready

contrasting with the cruder carving of the lower body

I love that "X" for the mouth, and those eyes looking forward, and that one very curled back rear paw. And of course the energetic scribbling all over. Framed: 11 3 4" x 9 1 4". Drawing, black marker on white paper: 10 3 4" x 8 1 4". Very good vintage condition. Framed as found, behind glass in an inexpensive frame. Some glare caught in photos.
